Sweden's speaker says shorter deadlines could help move future government-formation talks forward.

Andreas Norlén told SVT on Monday morning that the election result remained incomplete and that forming a government could prove complicated. Reflecting on the lengthy process after the 2018 election, he said the deadlines given to parties could have been shorter.

Parliament will elect its speaker later this month. Norlén's remarks do not establish whether he will remain in the post or introduce a new timetable.
