Forest-fire risk is locally very high in northeastern Götaland and parts of southeastern Svealand today, with SMHI’s notice covering 11:00–23:00. People planning outdoor fires or work with large machinery should check local fire bans and take great care.

The SMHI notice, issued on Friday evening and still active on Saturday morning, says fires can start easily from outdoor burning, machine sparks or lightning. Flames can spread readily through forest and other land.

The notice is a risk assessment, not a report that a fire is burning. Residents need to check separately whether a fire ban applies in their area.

SMHI also warns that fires along power-line corridors can disrupt electricity and telecommunications. Its notices can change at short notice, so check the current information before heading out.
