Fire risk stays high to extreme in parts of 10 counties
Fire risk remains high to locally extreme across parts of 10 counties until 11pm on Thursday 3 September, Sweden's current weather-warning service says.

The SMHI warning covers parts of Östergötland, Södermanland, Örebro, Västmanland, Stockholm, Uppsala, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Västra Götaland and Kalmar counties. It says fires can start from burning, machine sparks or lightning and can spread easily because conditions remain dry.
People should check local fire bans before lighting any fire and take particular care with machines that can create sparks. SMHI warns that a fire near power or telecommunications corridors could cause outages.
Rain or showers may reduce the risk locally, but the notice remains active until late Thursday evening.
