Stockholm's half-price travelcard can erase your tax deduction

Stockholm's half-price travelcard makes the daily journey cheaper. For some commuters, the lower fare could also leave less to deduct, or nothing at all, when they file their 2027 Swedish income tax return.

For income year 2026, Skatteverket says only eligible commuting costs above SEK 15,000 are deductible, up from SEK 11,000 for 2025. A public-transport journey must cover at least two kilometres between home and workplace.
