Andersson cancels campaign stop after attack

Sweden's opposition leader Magdalena Andersson has cancelled a planned campaign speech in Malmö after Friday's fatal school attack in Fagersta. She travelled to Fagersta instead and joined Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at a memorial site on Saturday.

A 17-year-old girl was killed and three people were injured in the sword attack at Brinellskolan. Swedish police said an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Two of the injured were assessed as seriously hurt and one as lightly hurt.
Göteborgs-Posten reported that Social Democratic parliamentary group leader Lena Hallengren will replace Andersson at the Malmö speech.
Sveriges Radio reported that Andersson and Kristersson were at the Fagersta memorial site by early Saturday afternoon. The 18-year-old suspect has been detained, and police said they would maintain an increased presence in the town.
