Lind warns PM vote could delay Sweden's next government

Green co-leader Amanda Lind says a vote on Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist as prime minister risks prolonging Sweden's government deadlock, and argues that Ulf Kristersson should have been given the next chance to form a government immediately.
In a Thursday statement to SVT, Lind said testing Kristersson's option would let the parties rule it out sooner and move towards a red-green government led by Magdalena Andersson. That is her proposed route through the impasse.
Lind called the Speaker's decision "very remarkable": Thand Ringqvist had explored a centrist government without seeking to lead it herself.
The Centre leader has accepted being put to a vote while maintaining that the conditions for forming a centrist government are still missing.
The vote is scheduled for 3 November at 13:00. Norlén has said Kristersson will receive an exploratory mandate if Thand Ringqvist is defeated, Sveriges Radio reports. Lind wants that stage brought forward; the Speaker's timetable first requires parliament to test the Centre leader.
