These Work-Permit Jobs Can Use Sweden’s Lower Salary Floor

Sweden’s main work-permit salary floor rose, but listed occupations and several applicant groups can still qualify at a lower level.

Sweden’s higher work-permit salary floor does not apply in the same way to every job. A lower threshold remains available, but only when the occupation code or applicant group matches the rules in force when the agency decides the case.

The government’s exemption decision covers 27 shortage occupations and several applicant groups. It sets their floor at 75 percent of the median salary instead of the main 90 percent level. The groups
