Average monthly pay for salaried staff in Sweden's information and communications sector reached SEK 59,069 in May, including variable supplements, up 3.6 percent from a year earlier, according to new SCB figures.
Across all private-sector salaried workers, the comparable average was SEK 53,354, up 2.8 percent. Finance and insurance averaged SEK 63,807 but grew only 1.7 percent. Hotels and restaurants and electricity, gas and heating both rose 4.6 percent.
For international tech professionals, the SEK 59,069 figure is useful negotiation context, not an offer target. It is an industry-wide mean, not a median or a role-level benchmark, and it is not take-home pay. SCB reports a 95 percent uncertainty margin of plus or minus SEK 1,182 around the tech-sector average.
