Social Democrats propose 12-pupil cap in school crisis plan
The Social Democrats have proposed three measures to tackle what the party calls Sweden’s school crisis, following record-low PISA results released this week.
Party leader Magdalena Andersson said a national commission should begin work within the first 100 days after the election, Aftonbladet reported.
The party wants measures in 2027 to stop school resources being extracted as profit from independent schools. A small-schools reform would be in place in 2028, with smaller classes for younger children and a maximum of 12 pupils per teacher.
