Your Swedish address is more than the street and city. For newcomers, the details that seem tiny are often the ones that decide whether a letter reaches you: apartment number, c/o line, mailbox name and whether your temporary accommodation is actually usable for official mail.
When you notify the Swedish Tax Agency that you have moved to Sweden, enter the address where you can actually receive letters. If you live in an apartment, add the apartment number. If your name is not on the postbox, fix that before the first decision notice is sent.
If you are staying with someone else, ask whether a c/o line is needed and write the name exactly as it appears on the mailbox. If you move while an application is active, report the new address instead of assuming mail forwarding will rescue everything.

Address details to check
The goal is simple: make your address boring. Boring addresses get letters. Complicated addresses create phone calls, delays and visits to fix information that could have been clear from the start.
Address details to check
- Use the address where you can receive mail now.
- Add the apartment number when you live in an apartment.
- Put your name on the mailbox or use the correct c/o name.
- Report a new address if you move during an active process.
