Kristersson overtakes Andersson in confidence poll

Ulf Kristersson has overtaken Magdalena Andersson in a new poll of confidence in Sweden’s party leaders, with 42% expressing confidence in the Moderate leader against 35% for the Social Democrat. Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch also ranks above Andersson, at 39%.
The Novus survey, published on Friday, puts Kristersson seven percentage points higher than in August and Andersson 11 points lower. Novus says both changes are statistically significant.
Andersson loses the top position for the first time in Novus’s measurements since becoming party leader. The poll measures confidence in individual leaders, rather than voting intentions or support for a particular coalition.
Liberal leader Simona Mohamsson records the biggest rise, gaining 11 percentage points. Novus also reports a statistically significant increase for Green spokesperson Amanda Lind and a five-point fall for Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar.
Novus conducted the survey on its own initiative between 30 September and 4 October. It received 1,358 responses through its Sweden panel and describes the results as representative of people aged 18–84.
