Ulf Kristersson has overtaken Magdalena Andersson in voters’ confidence, with 55% expressing strong confidence in the Moderate leader in Indikator Opinion’s October poll. His rating has risen ten percentage points since August.

Andersson, the Social Democratic leader, scored 48%, according to the findings reported by Sveriges Radio on Sunday. The measure concerns confidence in the leaders, rather than which party voters would choose.

Indikator’s head of opinion, Per Oleskog Tryggvason, linked the reversal to the election and its aftermath, including the struggle to form a government. He said Andersson had led the confidence rankings throughout the previous parliamentary term.

Separate findings from the October survey show discontent among Social Democrat and Centre voters over their parties’ handling of government formation. Almost a third in each group rated their party’s performance poorly, slightly more than rated it positively.

Among Left Party voters, a fifth were dissatisfied but half thought the party had handled the talks well. Green voters and supporters of the four Tidö parties were generally more satisfied.
