Örnsköldsvik water leak leaves six areas without water

Six areas in central Örnsköldsvik were without water on Friday morning after a new leak hit the same main that failed last week.

Municipal utility Miva said reservoir levels were falling sharply and warned that supplies may not reach everyone unless residents cut their use. The outage areas were Ås, Själevad, Haffsta, Sund, Hörnett and Varvet.

Miva told everyone in central Örnsköldsvik and surrounding districts to use water sparingly until repairs are complete. Drinking-water tanks remain in place and will be refilled when needed. The utility estimates the work will finish by 22:00 on Saturday, 8 August.
