A major supplier leak has left little drinking water in VA SYD's network, prompting an urgent conservation request across six areas in southwest Skåne.

VA SYD said the overnight leak at supplier Sydvatten has hit Malmö, Svedala and Klågerup hardest. Residents may face low pressure or discoloured water, and the utility has no repair forecast.

The request covers all of Malmö, Svedala, Burlöv, Staffanstorp and Vellinge, plus Dalby and Veberöd in Lund municipality.

Households should avoid showering, washing dishes or clothes, watering gardens and other heavy use until further notice.

VA SYD said saving water is necessary to keep reservoirs from running out while the leak is repaired. It will update its incident page as conditions change.
