468 SAS cabin crew set to strike from Saturday

Travellers with SAS bookings from Saturday face possible disruption after 468 Norway-based cabin crew were notified to strike from 04:00 on 8 August.
Fellesforbundet said a significant majority rejected a proposed collective agreement in a ballot that closed on 30 July. More than 90% of its SAS cabin members voted. The union said all members covered by the agreement would walk out, except staff serving Medevac flights and routes to and from Longyearbyen.
SVT independently reported the strike notice on Monday. Fellesforbundet said talks could still prevent the walkout. SAS had not published an affected-flight list or a new strike statement when DailySweden checked its public travel alerts and newsroom pages on Monday afternoon.
Passengers should check their exact flight status before travelling. Sweden’s Consumer Agency says that when an airline cancels a flight because of a strike, travellers can choose rebooking or a refund. Compensation may also be due under EU rules, depending on the circumstances.
