Volvo recalls more than 15,000 EX30s in Sweden over headrest risk

Volvo is recalling just over 15,000 EX30 electric cars in Sweden because the cushions on their front-seat headrests can detach in a sufficiently severe collision and cause injury.
The recall covers about 234,000 cars worldwide, Carup reports, citing a written statement from Volvo Cars spokesperson Magnus Holst. Volvo says the risk is rare and that it has received no reports of injuries linked to the problem anywhere in the world.
Workshops will strengthen the attachment of the headrest cushions on both front seats. Volvo says the repair work can begin immediately.
Volvo Car Sweden is contacting affected owners with information and instructions. The recall concerns the EX30; owners should follow the instructions for their particular vehicle rather than assume that every Volvo model is affected.
