Gale warning for northern Vänern on Saturday

Boaters on northern Lake Vänern face a yellow gale warning on Saturday, with easterly winds expected to reach 14–17 metres per second around midday. The warning runs from 10:00 to 16:00.

SMHI’s warning, issued at 04:32 on Saturday, describes the stronger winds as temporary. The agency advises crews to prepare vessels for strong wind and waves and consider whether it is appropriate to head out onto the water.

Gusts can be considerably stronger than the average wind, SMHI warns. Anyone planning a trip should check the latest warning before departure, as forecasts can change at short notice.
