Arlanda will close the security checkpoint in Terminal 3 on September 1, sending passengers on three airlines to Terminal 2 while construction begins on a new post-security link between the terminals.

Jonair, Populair and Västflyg will all depart from Terminal 2 until the project is finished, airport operator Swedavia said on Thursday.

The works are intended to connect Terminal 3 directly with Terminal 2's post-security area. Swedavia plans to reopen the former Terminal 3 gate area as part of Terminal 2 in late 2026.

Expansion work at Terminal 2's security checkpoint also starts on September 1. Equipment from Terminal 3 will be moved there to increase capacity, with the rebuild expected to finish in early 2027.

Passengers booked with the three affected airlines should therefore use Terminal 2 for departures from September 1.
