Sweden will test SE-Alert warning system on 7 September
Sweden will carry out the first public test of its new SE-Alert mobile warning channel at 15:00 on 7 September, the authorities responsible for the system said.

PTS says compatible phones in Stockholm and Gotland should receive the test. Devices in parts of Uppsala, Södermanland and Västmanland may also pick it up because mobile networks do not follow county borders exactly.
The alert will produce a loud sound and vibration, including on phones set to silent. It will appear first in Swedish and then in English. No app or registration is needed, but the phone must be updated, switched on and connected to a mobile network.
Myndigheten för civilt försvar says recipients do not need to take any action during the test. SE-Alert became available on 1 July as an additional channel for Viktigt meddelande till allmänheten, and a national test is planned for December.
