Swedish preschools with greater needs have a lower share of qualified teachers
Sweden promises an equivalent preschool education wherever a child lives. The first national analysis found segregation, a slightly lower share of qualified teachers in disadvantaged preschools and little overall compensation for greater needs.
Children with similar socioeconomic and migration backgrounds are concentrated in the same preschools across Sweden. Skolverket's first national analysis found that preschools serving children with greater needs have a slightly lower share of qualified preschool teachers, while overall resource allocation does little to compensate for those differences.
