Your Mortgage Payment Can Stay High After Sweden Scraps the Extra Rule

Sweden removed an extra mortgage rule in April, yet some existing borrowers will see no change until their bank amends the contract.

A Swedish mortgage payment can remain unchanged even after the rule that created its extra amortisation was removed. Borrowers with older agreements may therefore keep paying more each month until their contract is amended.
