Sweden’s income pension to rise 2.2% in January

Sweden’s income pension will rise by 2.2% in January 2027, while the guarantee pension will increase by 0.7%, leaving pensioners with different increases depending on the parts they receive.
The Pensions Agency announced the figures on Monday. More than 1.2 million pensioners receiving income or supplementary pension without basic protection will get a 2.2% increase in those income-linked components.
Almost 800,000 people who receive both income and guarantee pension will see an increase of between 0.7% and 2.2%. Almost 300,000 with low or no income pension, guarantee pension and housing supplement will receive up to 0.7% more in public pension.
The difference reflects how the components are adjusted: income pension follows earnings, while guarantee pension follows prices.
The figures are not a promise that everyone’s total pension will rise by 2.2%. Premium pension depends on the performance of its funds and will be calculated at the end of December.
Individual amounts will become available on Mina sidor and in pension statements in January. The agency says it cannot yet answer how much each pensioner will receive.
