Sweden extends Fritidskort benefit to all six-year-olds
Parents can now use Sweden's Fritidskort leisure benefit for every six-year-old, while another group of lower-income households can apply for SEK 2,500 a year instead of the standard SEK 550.

The Public Health Agency says both changes took effect on 10 August. The higher amount now covers guardians who received housing supplement from Försäkringskassan or the Swedish Pensions Agency last year. Families receiving housing allowance were already eligible for it.
The money can pay activity fees or equipment hire at registered sports clubs, outdoor associations and municipal culture schools. More than 7,200 organisations are connected to the scheme.
Nearly 500,000 children and young people have been approved for Fritidskort this year. More than 46,000 received the higher payment.
