Sweden's government has approved a further SEK 1.4 billion contribution to the World Bank's crisis facility for Ukraine in 2026.

The contribution is expected to enable about SEK 4.2 billion in World Bank lending, according to the government. The facility supports the Ukrainian state's ability to finance essential services and reconstruction while Russia's full-scale invasion continues.

The new decision is separate from a Swedish guarantee announced on 29 May, which the government says could enable roughly SEK 2.5 billion in additional financing. The government describes Sweden's latest payment as part of its wider civilian support for Ukraine.

This is public funding routed through a multilateral institution, not a direct cash payment to individuals. The World Bank is responsible for the lending arrangements and project oversight under the facility.
