Stockholm plans free measles vaccine for adults born since 1960
Adults in Region Stockholm born in 1960 or later who lack adequate measles protection are set to get the vaccine free from 1 September.

SVT reports that the regional decision is due to be approved on Wednesday. Vaccination clinics around the county would offer the shots. Children who missed the measles vaccine in Sweden’s childhood programme would also be covered.
The key condition is insufficient protection, not age alone. National 1177 guidance says unvaccinated adults need two doses at least four weeks apart. People born after 1980 who followed Sweden’s programme should already have two doses; coverage varies among older age groups and people vaccinated abroad.
Anyone unsure can check available records and contact a vaccination clinic. The planned free Stockholm offer is not a blanket booster for everyone in the age group.
