Stockholm Central trains resume but delays remain

Breaking news.
Breaking news.

Train traffic at Stockholm Central was moving again on Thursday evening after a torn contact wire temporarily stopped long-distance and regional services, but delays remained and three tracks were still closed at about 19:00.

SVT, citing Sveriges Radio's traffic desk, reported that Trafikverket had reopened one track. SJ said it had no cancelled trains but warned of delays on several routes. Trafikverket's live station data at 19:05 showed estimated delays affecting arrivals and departures through Stockholm C, while other services were listed without an estimated delay.

The disruption can affect travellers well beyond Stockholm. SVT listed stations from Alingsås and Gothenburg-area corridors to Uppsala, Arlanda, Falun, Gävle, Sundsvall and Umeå among those whose services could be affected.

Travellers should check their operator and Trafikverket before going to the station, allow extra time and watch for platform changes. Trafikverket's preliminary forecast was for full traffic to resume at 20:00; that time was not a guarantee.
