Spendrups recalls Trocadero Zero 24-packs after strong beer mix-up

Spendrups has recalled 24-packs of Trocadero Zero after some cardboard multipacks were found to contain individual cans of full-strength beer from another brand.

The recall covers 33cl cans in boxes marked with the best-before date 22-07-27. Spendrups says the Trocadero Zero cans themselves contain the correct soft drink.

The affected packs were sold at Lidl and Dollarstore. Spendrups says they have been removed from store shelves and asks customers who bought one to contact its consumer service for further information.

SVT reports that customers found several cans of Lucky Bait beer inside the packs. Spendrups press chief Annika Svensson said the beer and soft drink had been packed on the same line and that the company was still mapping the extent of the error.

Spendrups says it has opened an investigation and will take steps intended to prevent a repeat.
