Skagerrak gale warning starts on Sunday evening

A yellow gale warning covers the Skagerrak from 19:00 on Sunday, 4 October, until 03:00 on Tuesday, 6 October. Boat users should prepare both their vessel and crew for strong wind and rough seas, and consider whether to go out.
The SMHI warning, updated on Saturday evening, forecasts southwesterly winds of 14–17 metres per second on Sunday evening. Gusts can be significantly stronger.
The warning concerns conditions at sea. It does not itself announce ferry cancellations or port closures. Anyone planning a crossing should check the current forecast and their operator’s information before travelling.
