School threats and false alarms rise after Fagersta attack
Schools in several Swedish cities have locked down or called police this week amid threats and false alarms after the fatal attack in Fagersta.

TV4 reports that three schools in Lycksele locked down on Tuesday after information about an armed person. Police later said nobody had been injured and no attack had occurred. A high school in Karlskrona locked down the same day after a pupil posted an image that caused concern.
At Johannesskolan in Malmö on Wednesday, staff cordoned off the schoolyard and called police over a suspicious object. It proved to be a foil-wrapped boule ball used in a children's space game.
Threats or posts with threatening themes were also directed at schools in Hässelby, Katrineholm and Borås. Police increased their presence in several places and identified suspects in some cases.
The Police Authority told TV4 that it has historically seen more threat reports after widely publicised violent attacks in Sweden and abroad, including after Örebro and Fagersta. That pattern does not mean every current alert is false, and schools are continuing to treat warnings seriously.
