Pilot flagged poor ship visibility before fatal Tjörn collision
A Norwegian pilot warned in December that poor forward visibility on the cargo ship Misje Verde made it difficult to see everything from the bridge, seven months before the vessel struck a leisure boat off Tjörn.

Ekot reviewed Norwegian Coastal Administration records saying a deck-mounted excavator further reduced an already limited view. The broadcaster reported that the excavator remained aboard during the 28 July collision. The shipowner did not answer Ekot's request for comment.
Four people were aboard the smaller boat. Swedish investigators say two died and two were seriously injured.
Swedish prosecutors charged the ship's captain and the pilot who guided it with causing death and injury and carelessness in maritime traffic. The indictment says they failed to keep a proper lookout, despite the leisure boat being visible on radar. Both deny the charges.
The trial is scheduled to begin on 10 September. The accident investigation remains open.
