More Jönköping communities get Hesa Fredrik warning sirens
Residents in Gränna, Tenhult, Barnarp and Taberg will hear Sweden's Hesa Fredrik warning signal on Monday 7 September as Jönköping expands the outdoor system to more parts of the municipality.

Jönköping municipality says it will add warning transmitters during 2026 and 2027, often near designated safety points. The system is used for serious incidents and disruptions to essential services.
Monday's quarterly test starts at 15:00. A seven-second signal followed by 14 seconds of silence repeats for two minutes. A continuous 30-second all-clear follows at 15:05.
The Civil Defence Agency says around half of Sweden's population lives within audible range of a transmitter when outdoors. In a real warning, go indoors, close windows, doors and ventilation, then follow Sveriges Radio P4 or Krisinformation.se.
The expanded siren network complements SE-Alert, which sends warning sounds and messages directly to smartphones.
