Left Party MP Mohamed Abdukardir Ali says he will attend Sweden's parliament on Monday, 12 October, after requesting two weeks' leave following allegations surrounding his election.

Ali announced his plans to Ekot on Friday. He denied any involvement in possible electoral fraud and said police had not contacted him about the ongoing investigation.

The investigation concerns suspected improper interference in voting in connection with his election. No one has been formally notified that they are suspected of a crime, Ekot reported.

Ali was elected to represent Dalarna in September. The parliamentary record lists him as a Left Party MP and records that he had notified parliament he could not attend its first sitting on 28 September.

In his September statement, Ali said he had requested two weeks' leave to handle the situation. He stressed that the request was neither a resignation nor an admission of guilt.
