Spain and Argentina will contest the 2026 World Cup final at New York New Jersey Stadium on Sunday, 19 July. Kick-off is 21:00 Swedish time.

Argentina enter as defending world and South American champions. Spain arrive as European champions after beating France 2–0 in the semi-final, while Argentina defeated England 2–1.

Argentina are seeking a fourth world title and a second consecutive triumph. Spain can claim their second, following their 2010 victory.

The final also brings Lionel Messi and Lamine Yamal together on football's largest stage. Their individual prominence gives the match a generational storyline, but the result will be decided between two teams that entered the tournament among its strongest contenders.

It is their first World Cup meeting since 1966, when Argentina won 2–1.
