The Left Party would vote against Magdalena Andersson even in a fourth and final prime-minister vote if it were denied cabinet seats, deputy leader Ida Gabrielsson said on Sunday.

In a Facebook statement on 1 November, she insisted the party must enter a government if its parliamentary seats are needed, while offering to negotiate other terms with the Centre Party.

“I don’t believe in cooperation built on humiliation,” she wrote. Centre had to be able to retain its centre-right identity, and the Left Party was willing to discuss how to make that possible.

Gabrielsson said her recent silence on social media meant she thought the party’s position was understood. She urged those seeking a change of government to stop trying to make the party abandon its cabinet demand.

In a separate X reply, she confirmed that refusal would extend to a fourth vote on Andersson, despite the risk of another election.

Parliament’s next PM vote is on 3 November, when MPs will consider Centre leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist. If that bid fails, the Speaker plans to give Ulf Kristersson until 10 November to explore support.

An extra election must be held within three months if MPs reject four prime-minister proposals. No fourth vote has been scheduled.
