Left Party leader Nooshi Dadgostar has called on Magdalena Andersson to say which parties she wants in government, bringing the unresolved cabinet question into Friday’s first joint post-election meeting of the four red-green parties.

Dadgostar said she wanted to raise the issue even though it was outside the meeting’s agenda, TT reported. Centre leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist said participants could speak at the end, but cabinet composition was not scheduled for discussion.

The Social Democrats, Left Party, Greens and Centre Party gathered at Högberga gård on Lidingö to hear organisations and authorities assess Sweden’s challenges. Andersson said she hoped the meeting would lead to more talks involving all four parties.

The obstacle remains substantial: the Left Party wants ministerial posts, while the Centre Party will not support a government that includes it. The Social Democrats have not said whether they would admit the Left Party to a cabinet.

Andersson is due to report to the parliamentary speaker on Monday. She said whether she would ask for more time depended on the meeting and her conclusions over the weekend.
