The Left Party and Greens will vote against a government consisting only of Social Democrats when parliament tests Magdalena Andersson’s nomination on Thursday. Both parties are holding to their demand for a place in government.

Spokespeople for Left leader Nooshi Dadgostar and Green co-leader Amanda Lind confirmed their positions to Aftonbladet. The Centre Party says it will decide its response through its normal internal process.

Lind still favours a majority government involving the Social Democrats, Centre, Left and Greens. Dadgostar says all four needed to negotiate together and argues that some parties have yet to accept the parliamentary position created by the election.

Centre leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist says her party has taken constructive initiatives and held good talks with Andersson and other parties. She has not announced how Centre MPs will vote.

The vote is scheduled for noon on 15 October. It concerns the Speaker’s formal proposal for an S-only government; no four-party cabinet agreement has been reached.
