Trafikverket says the shutdown runs from 22:00 on Friday, 4 September, until 14:00 on Sunday, 6 September. Travellers should check their operator’s information for replacement transport and changes to individual journeys.

The closure is part of work to build two new passing tracks near the station. The project is intended to let more freight trains pass without blocking other services and is due to be completed in 2027.

Further closures are planned in weeks 39 and 41. Anyone travelling between Stockholm, western Sweden or southern routes that pass through Katrineholm should check their itinerary before leaving.
