How Sweden counts travel against citizenship residence
Several ordinary trips can cross the same annual boundary as one long absence. Sweden then changes how it counts that year toward citizenship.
A holiday, a family visit and a work trip may each feel too short to matter to a Swedish citizenship application. Migrationsverket does not only look at the length of one absence, however. It also looks at how travel accumulates within a year, which can move the date on which an applicant completes the required habitual residence.
