Among Swedish-born residents, people with post-secondary education live 6.7 years longer than those with the shortest education. The gap has widened, not closed.
Sweden's average life expectancy has risen, but the gain has not been shared evenly. Among people born in Sweden, the distance between the shortest and longest education groups reached 6.7 years in 2024.
