Busch urges Social Democrats to consider letting Kristersson govern

Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch says the Social Democrats should consider allowing Ulf Kristersson to form a government if negotiations on the left fail. She is maintaining her own refusal to support a government led by Magdalena Andersson.
Busch made the call on Friday as she addressed her party’s national council, Dagens Nyheter reports. She argued that the Social Democrats faced a choice between permitting another governing arrangement and pushing Sweden towards an extra election if they could not assemble their own.
The demand does not amount to an agreement with the Social Democrats. Busch continues to name Kristersson as her candidate for prime minister.
She has met Centre Party leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist this week. Thand Ringqvist holds the Speaker’s mandate to explore a possible government and is due to report back on Monday.
