Police have searched properties and seized material in Borlänge as part of an investigation into suspected interference with voting. Prosecutors say the material will now be analysed.

The Prosecution Authority confirmed Tuesday’s operation, carried out by the police’s National Operations Department with officers from the Bergslagen region.

Senior prosecutor Oskar Edvardsson said the searches produced items that could be relevant to the inquiry. He declined to describe what had been seized, citing investigation secrecy.

The authority has not announced any findings from the analysis. Its statement describes investigative steps, rather than a conclusion that electoral interference occurred.

Prosecutors said the investigation continues and that a further statement will be issued when there is new information to release.
