Billionaire Roger Akelius abandons Moderates over ‘cruel’ deportations
Property billionaire Roger Akelius says he will vote for the Centre Party instead of the Moderates, condemning their cooperation with the Sweden Democrats and what he calls “cruel” deportations of teenagers.

Akelius told Dagens industri that he usually votes Moderate but can no longer do so because, in his view, a vote for M also supports SD. He said the Centre Party is the only remaining option that combines a business-friendly outlook with openness to foreigners.
His strongest criticism concerned the deportation of teenagers. He described sending young people away without considering the consequences for the individual as “so cruel”, according to Expressen.
Akelius plans to vote Centre but will not give the party financial support, Kvartal reported.
The sources describe a change in his personal vote, not a resignation from party membership or office. The intervention nonetheless puts a prominent business figure into the election campaign’s dispute over SD cooperation and migration policy.
