Andersson weighs her next move before Monday’s deadline

Magdalena Andersson will spend the weekend deciding how to take her government-building effort forward after Friday’s meeting of the four red-green parties.
The Social Democratic leader called the Lidingö meeting constructive but said she would reflect before deciding what comes next, Sveriges Radio reported. Centre leader Elisabeth Thand Ringqvist also directed questions about the next move to Andersson.
The deadline is Monday, 12 October. Speaker Andreas Norlén has asked Andersson to report by then on whether she can form a government tolerated by parliament, according to the Riksdag’s announcement. Her renewed exploratory assignment began on 5 October.
Norlén said a parliamentary vote on a prime minister would follow once that assignment had ended. His announcement did not set a date for the vote.
Friday’s shared briefing gave the four parties a chance to discuss Sweden’s challenges. Andersson’s next task is to turn those conversations into a route to parliamentary support.
